Testimonials & FAQs

Hear from our riders.

Our riders are the heart of our community, and their experiences speak volumes. From building confidence in the saddle to forming lasting connections with their horses, here's what they have to say about their time at the barn.

"My 8 year old has taken a few lessons here over the past year, and this is a wonderful facility. The horses seem happy and you can tell they are loved and well cared for. The staff is incredible. Taylor is a great teacher for the little ones — she is very patient and gives great practical advice to help the kids understand and interact with the horses! She gives my daughter just the right balance of guidance and independence to practice skills. We love going to Jordan Stables!"

"The experiences and lessons with Anysa and Jordan Stables have been both enriching and therapeutic for my now 6 year old daughter Emily. We were having challenges with attitude, acting out, and physiological balance following my separation and divorce. Her psychologist identified a bilateral integration problem as well as impulse and emotional control issues. Anysa incorporated balance exercises on horseback in addition to her regular lesson skills, and I have seen a remarkable improvement across the board. Impulse control has significantly improved along with her balance. Jordan Stables is very much at the top of my list for being warm, caring, effective and positive. I highly recommend them!"

"Where do I even start! My husband had a plan to surprise me with a riding lesson but was having trouble finding a stable that had availability. Taylor and the team at Jordan Stables went so far out of their way to make this happen and it was the most incredible experience. The horses are beautiful and so well cared for, and Taylor is AWESOME. I've never had someone spend the time to teach me all the things necessary to prepare before riding. I had so much fun, learned a lot, and left with a true appreciation for horsemanship and horseback riding."

"Great experience! Horses were beautiful, stables were clean, and the staff was so welcoming. It was our 6 yr old son's 2nd time on a horse and they took the time to get him acquainted with the horse and his surroundings. He was so excited and learned a lot during his lesson. Can't wait to go again — maybe I'll take a lesson next time!"

Frequently Asked Questions

Good to know.

How are the lessons structured?+
Our lessons are designed to be one hour long, with 30 minutes dedicated to instructed riding time. At the heart of our program is fostering independence, which is why each rider is expected to learn essential horsemanship skills — including catching, leading, grooming, and tacking their horses. Students are expected to spend at least 15 minutes before and after their ride caring for their horses.
What type of lessons are offered?+
Our teaching style focuses on cultivating strong foundational skills in Western riding while fostering confidence and a deep connection between rider and horse. We specialize in various Western disciplines, including barrel racing, gymkhana, and working equitation, providing a well-rounded education for riders of all levels. Lessons are tailored to individual goals and skill levels, emphasizing safety, horsemanship, and proper technique. We do not currently offer English discipline lessons.
What ages are able to ride in the program?+
We encourage riders ages 5+ to ride!
Do I need prior experience to sign up for lessons?+
Absolutely not! We accept riders of all experience levels. Whether you have been riding for years or have yet to start, we will tailor our instructed lessons to your level.
What days and times are lessons available?+
We run lessons Wednesday through Saturday in the morning and evenings (excluding Saturday PM). Our Riding Club meets every Tuesday evening.
How do I sign up for lessons?+
Call or text 602-535-9577 or email contact@jordanstables.com to view availability in our program.
Why is monthly tuition a different cost per rider?+
Our lesson horses play a vital role in supporting all levels of riders, working extra hard to ensure each lesson is a success. To maintain their health and well-being, we've adjusted our rates so we can provide them with the best care possible. The additional funds go directly toward their wellness — including massages, chiropractic care, and specialized supplements — ensuring our horses are always feeling their best.
What do I need to wear to my lesson?+
For safety and comfort, we ask all riders to wear long pants or jeans and closed-toe shoes, ideally cowboy boots with a well-defined heel. Riders under 18 are required to wear an SEI-certified equestrian helmet (ASTM F1163-23 rated). Don't worry if you don't have one — we have plenty of helmets available for you to borrow!
Do you offer makeup lessons?+
Makeup lessons are offered only if the instructor cancels a lesson. We conduct lessons rain or shine. If weather or horse conditions prevent riding, we will provide alternative lessons focusing on classroom-style instruction or groundwork to further horsemanship skills. Monthly tuition secures your dedicated time slot and instructor each week, ensuring consistency in your learning journey.
